This drawing was done at Preston Bradley Hall during WFMT's day of music celebrating their 60th anniversary on December 13, 2011. Shown here is Chicago Symphony's Brant Taylor playing a Bach Cello Sonata. This performance inspired a keen interest on my part in cello music. Later in the program, jazz artist Karrin Allyson performed one of my favorites- Billy Joel's "And so it goes" with Brant on the cello.
Another great venue for classical music in Chicago is Fourth Presbyterian Church. This drawing was done while listening to Tower Brass and Thomas Gouwens/organ.
My day of drawing continued- inspired by the music (Copland and Tchaikovsky) and the beautiful weather, I made this drawing while listening to the Grant Park Orchestra in Millennium Park with my friend Stephen.
My first concert drawing since April! Inspired by the music of Kobi Malkin and Rafael Skorka playing violin and piano, I got back in the swing of drawing during the concerts at Preston Bradley Hall.
